Appeal after armed robbery in Clydebank
A staff member has been left shaken after being threatened with a knife
Police in Clydebank are appealing for information after an armed robbery in Clydebank Shopping Centre this morning.
A staff member was left shaken after a man entered the shop on Sylvania Way and threatened them with a knife.
The man then made off on foot towards the Forth and Clyde Canal after stealing a sum of cash worth a two figure sum.
He is described as being around 40-years-old, approximately 5ft 9in tall and of medium build with a local Glasgow accent.
He was wearing a black tracksuit, dark New York Yankees baseball cap and multi-coloured ski mask.
Detective Constable Catriona MacQueen of Clydebank Police Station said:
“Nobody was injured during this incident but it was a frightening experience for the staff members involved.
“We are working to identify the man involved and would urge anyone who has any information or who believes they may have seen him to let us know.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0920 of 1 October, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
