Appeal after armed robbery at Greggs in Shettleston

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Shettleston on Thursday.

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Shettleston on Thursday.

Around 5:50pm two men entered Greggs in Budhill Avenue and threatened the two members of staff with a knife and demanded money. They made off in a gold or orange coloured car with a four-figure sum of cash.

The two members of staff were not injured, but were badly shaken by the robbery.

The first suspect is described as white and of thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded top, pale blue jeans and black trainers.

The second suspect is described wearing a blue hooded top and jeans.

Both men had blue scarfs covering their faces.

Detective Sergeant Colin Kilgour at the Community Investigation Unit at Helen Street Police Office is appealing for information. He said: “Officers have been out in the area carrying out house to house enquiries, and studying CCTV footage to gather more information on this incident and trace the two men responsible.”
