Staff from the ambulance base at Glasgow Airport are running a relay to and from all the helipad bases across the city for a colleague recovering from a stroke.

They're raising money for the Stroke Association as their paramedic colleague Richard recovers from one.

Robin Mayhew is an advanced retrieval practitioner and told Clyde 1: "We will run to and from each helipad across Glasgow and Paisley that we visit with work.

"We will also then run several loops around the airport to make up the 240km distance between the airport and Richard's hometown, Campbelltown."

Several of his colleagues are taking part in the gruelling challenge including those from the adult retrieval team, the paediatric retrieval team, the neonatal team and the air ambulance team.

Robin added: "We want to show that we are all behind him because he is such a good guy who has dedicated his career to helping others."
