Can you imagine heading out on a Saturday night and ordering a healthy fruit smoothie instead of your tipple of choice at the bar?

Well, that is what is being served up at Glasgow's newest club night starting in Ivory Black's next month.

'Sober Clubbing' is an club event that swaps a boozy bar for fruit smoothies and energy boosting shots.

Sober Clubbing

Organisers Ronnie Whitaker says: “We serve different natural and organic fruit drinks, apple juice, orange juice, spring water and raw cacao drinks, which is a natural energy stimulant.

“It is cultural. We are all so used to going out and having a bevy and that is just the way we accept it is but we are all capable of going out and enjoying ourselves naturally without alcohol.

“There’s more people taking to things like vegetarianism, veganism… yoga is growing in popularity and young people are tending to stay away from the kind of binge drinking ways of the older generations and focusing more on their health.

“The emphasis and the feeling within our events is just down to the ground normality and openness. There’s a healthy spirit and connection shared between us all."
