Man arrested over what police call isolated incident
A woman has died following an alleged serious assault within a house in North Lanarkshire.
The 54-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on Torrance Avenue, Airdrie, after emergency services were alerted at around 10.45am on Sunday.
Police also attended the scene and a 60-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with what officers are calling an “Isolated incident”.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a woman who had been seriously assaulted within a property on Torrance Avenue, Airdrie, around 10.45am on Sunday.
“The 54-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 60-year-old man has been arrested. It is being treated as an isolated incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
