Actor Paul Brannigan in court on assault charge
Actor Paul Brannigan has appeared in court over an alleged assault on New Year's Day.
Police received reports of an incident in Stamford Street, Glasgow, at around 10.20am on Wednesday.
Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
The 33-year-old actor was arrested and charged with assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday where he made no plea and was released on bail.
Brannigan is best known for his roles as Gareth O'Connor in soap opera River City and as Robbie in the Ken Loach film The Angels' Share.
The actor also appeared in the 2013 release Under The Skin.
