As many of us prepare for Mother's Day tomorrow, one woman from the West of Scotland is doing something a little different.

Vanessa Taylor is undertaking 71 consecutive days of 7.1 miles on foot, 71 burpees, and an ice bath every day.

She's taking on the challenge for Marie Curie, after losing her mum at the age of 71, to cancer a few months ago.

The challenge will finish with a 71 kilometre bike ride at Helensburgh Leisure Centre today - all to mark the 71 years of her mother's life.

Speaking to Clyde news Ms Taylor said her mum never gave up, even on the bad days.

She added: "To do 71 days of fitness is a reflection of the person she was. She was a real get-up-and-go person."
