A 69 year-old woman has died after she was knocked down by a car in Greenock.

A 69 year-old woman has died after she was knocked down by a car in Greenock.

Joan Crilly was seriously injured when she was hit by a Skoda Octavia private hire car while crossing Campbell Street just after 4pm on 22nd December. The 69 year-old, who lived locally, was rushed to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock where she remained for treatment.

She was then transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries on Wednesday 28 December.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
