Detectives have launched a murder inquiry after a 52-year old woman died following an incident at a Paisley house last night.

Emergency services were called to Penilee Road in the Ralston area at 4:55pm on Friday night - where they also found a 16 year old boy - his condition is described as critical - and detectives are treating his attack as attempted murder.

Clyde News spoke to one neighbour who knows the family and told us it was a quiet area and that she was shocked at the news.

The alarm was raised around 5 o'clock last night when police received reports of a dog running round the neighbourhood covered in blood.

They have confirmed a 52 year-old woman died at the scene and a 16 year old boy is critical in hospital.

Police remain on the scene today and a cordon is in place.
