£500k Worth Of Drugs Discovered During Cumbernauld Raid

Drugs worth an estimated street value of nearly half a million pounds have been seized by police in Cumbernauld following an intelligence led operation on Tuesday 13 January 2015.

Around 1220 hours last Tuesday afternoon, officers searched a house in Cairngorm Gardens, Cumbernauld, under warrant and recovered drugs, believed to be cocaine and heroin with an estimated value of four hundred and seventy thousand pounds.

Enquiries into the find are continuing.

DI Kevin Jamieson of Lanarkshire CID said:

“This is a significant find and its seizure will certainly have an impact on those involved in their distribution.

“Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in to the find and I would appeal to anyone with information about the drugs or the premises in which they were found to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
