50-year man assaulted in city centre pub

Detectives are appealing for information following an assault which took place in a bar in Glasgow City Centre on Tuesday 21 November 2017.

Around 10:25pm a 50 year old man was within the Hall Pub in Sauchiehall Street when he became involved in an altercation with another man who assaulted him.

The suspect, who was in the company of a blonde woman, then left the premises.

Emergency services were called and the victim was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a facial injury and was released this morning.

The suspect is described as white, between 25 and 35 years old, around 5ft 8 in height with short brown hair.

He was wearing a short sleeved white polo shirt, light coloured jeans and white trainers.

Detective Constable Paul Houston said: ‘We are appealing for anyone who was in the Hull Pub last night and saw the assault take place to please come forward to assist our investigation.

‘In particular, we would like to speak to a woman who called the bar around 20 minutes after the incident to check on the victim’s welfare.

‘We believe she may have been witnessed what happened and it is vital that she gets in touch with us.

‘Anyone with information is asked to contact Stewart Street CID, quoting incident number 3823 of Tuesday 21 November 2017.
