47-year old man assaulted in Wishaw
Police Officers believe there may have been a number of other men involved in the attack
An investigation is underway after a 47-year old man was seriously assaulted in Wishaw on Friday 26 January 2018.
Around 11.55 pm police were called to a report of a 47 year-old man having been seriously injured on North Dryburgh Road, near to Louden Street.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to Wishaw General Hospital. Medical staff have described his injuries as life changing.
Police Officers believe there may have been a number of other men involved in the attack on the 47 year-old, who all fled the scene.
Near to where the man was found, an empty silver coloured BMW was found crashed into a wall on Louden Street and another vehicle, a white Mercedes A Class, which had been set on fire, was found on Wishaw Low Road. Officers believe that these vehicles and the injured man are linked.
Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries and examining CCTV footage and are now appealing to the public for information.
Detective Inspector Kenny Dalrymple, Wishaw Police Office, said: ‘The attack on this man was callous and brutal and has left him with serious injuries. It is vital that we find those responsible.
‘We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and seen either of the cars, or a group of people running from the area.
‘Anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may have seemed at the time, to come forward and contact us.”
