41 year old pedestrian dies after being hit by car in Bellshill
Police are appealing for information after the incident on Friday night
A 41 year old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in North Lanarkshire on Friday night.
The incident happened around 9.30pm on November 1 in the Crossgates area of Bellshill, when she was struck by a silver Ford Fiesta.
Emergency services attended but she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The 36 year old driver of the car was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and was later released pending further inquiries.
The road was closed for around 6 and a half hours, reopening at 4am.
Police appeal
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"We are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. If you have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, then please contact us."
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4291 of Friday November 1.
