39 year old man dies after being struck by a bus

The incident happened this morning on Argyle Street

It is the fifth incident on Glasgow's roads in the last two days

A man has died after being hit by a bus on Argyle Street this morning, June 5.

The incident happened around 12:05am near Gray Street, and the 39 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Volvo bus and all the passengers on board were uninjured.

It is the fifth incident on Glasgow’s roads in the last two days, including an incident where a 75 year old woman lost her life after being struck by a van, and another involving a lorry and a 39 year old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for information

Divisional Road Policing Sergeant Nicholas Twigg said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances and the cause of the crash.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information or personal footage that may assist our investigation to contact 101 quoting reference number 0008 of 5 June.”
