A 33-year old man's recovering after he was attacked in his own home in Glasgow. Two men forced their way into the house in Toryglen Road around 3:30pm yesterday and assaulted the man with a knife and baseball bat.

The two men then started shouting threats before they made off.

Emergency services were called and the 33 year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Both suspects are described as being tall and of average build. They both had local accents and were wearing balaclavas. One of the men was wearing a white hooded top and the other wearing a dark coloured top.

Detective Constable Paul Mooney, Cambuslang CID, said: “This was a violent and targeted attack on a man within his own home. The two men responsible left the property in a hurry, whilst shouting.

“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our communities and therefore it is vital that we trace those responsible.

"Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries and checking CCTV in the area, however we are appealing for anybody who has any information to come forward.
