Three people are in hospital after violence broke out between football fans following yesterday's Old Firm clash.

One of them is believed to be in a serious condition with knife wounds after trouble erupted in the Merchant City following Celtic's 2 - 1 win - a mass brawl is thought to have started in a pub and spilled out onto Albion Street.

The street remained taped off last night.

There was a separate incident involving football fans outside the Toby Jug on Hope Street - eyewitnesses report seeing the pub being attacked.

Six arrests have been made over alleged offences during the game itself.

Three were in connection with sectarian breaches of the peace, one was to do with being drunk and incapable, one was for resisting arrest, while another was for attempting to enter the stadium with alcohol

Some serious questions are being asked about the conduct of the players on the pitch.

Rangers Alfredo Morelos was sent off for elbowing Scott Brown in the face.

After the final whistle there were ugly scenes during a pitch invasion as players squared up to each other - Scott Brown and Andy Halliday were involved in the row, which resulted in Halliday being shown a second yellow card.

The match finished 2-1 with a Celtic victory over Rangers
