3 Held After Armed Police Stand Off In Govan

Three men have been arrested following a disturbance at a flat during which armed police and negotiators were deployed.

Police were called to the scene in Shaw Street in the Govan area of Glasgow at about 4.15am.

Two men aged 19 and 24 and another man, whose age has not yet been confirmed, were arrested in connection with the incident.

Govan Road was closed for a time between Golspie Street and Burleigh Street while police dealt with the incident but later reopened.

The three men are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 4.15am on June 9 police were called to a disturbance at a flat in Shaw Street in Glasgow.

"Police and fire service attended, along with specially-trained firearms officers and negotiators, and the surrounding section of Govan Road was closed off for a short time.

"Two men aged 19 and 24, along with another man whose age is still to be confirmed, have been arrested in connection with the incident.''
