Driver arrested and woman in hospital after 3-car Glasgow crash

Tollcross Road was locked down as police probed the incident

A driver’s been arrested and a woman’s in hospital after a three-car crash in Glasgow that forced a major route to be locked down for over seven hours.

It happened on Tollcross Road at the junction with Maukinfauld Road just after 2.30pm yesterday.

Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old woman, one of the drivers, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A 31-year-old man, one of the drivers, was arrested and taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be checked over.

He was subsequently charged in connection with road traffic offences and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 February, 2025.

Police have confirmed the road re-opened at 9.50pm last night.
