Police name the man who died after being found injured in Airdrie

A 33-year-old man who died after being found injured on Stirling Street, Airdrie has been named as Jamie Lucas.
Officers were called around 2.45am on Sunday, 22 December, 2024. Jamie was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Campbell said: "Our thoughts remain with Jamie's family and friends at this very difficult time. Officers will continue to support them as our investigation continues.
"I am aware that this incident will be of concern to the local community in Airdrie and I would like to reassure the public that additional patrols are in the area as part of this ongoing investigation and there is no threat to the wider community. I would ask anyone with concerns to speak to officers.
"I urge anyone with information that may assist our inquiry to contact us. If you have any personal footage or you were driving in the Stirling Street area and have dashcam footage, please come forward. Any information can be passed to us through 101 quoting incident number 0454 of 22 December, 2024. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
