A man has been arrested in connection with a cannabis farm worth £98,000 uncovered by police in North Lanarkshire.

Officers found around 160 cannabis plants in a raid on a property at Cedar Road, Abronhill, Cumbernauld, on Thursday.

The raid took place following a tip-off and the drugs are thought to have a street value of £98,000.

A man has been arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences and is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday.

Meanwhile, a man has been arrested and drugs worth £57,000 seized in a police raid in Greenock.

Officers searched a house in Luss Avenue on Thursday afternoon and found a quantity of amphetamine.

A 27-year-old man was arrested over the find, which is said to have a street value of £57,000.

He is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.
