16 year old injured and 42 year old arrested after reports of a break in

The incident happened in Newton Mearns in the early hours of this morning

A 42 year old man has been arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon after police were called to a report of a break-in in Newton Mearns.

A 16 year old man was found injured after police arrived at the property at around 12.10am on Sunday 29.

He was later taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson said: "No-one from within the house was injured.

"Enquiries are continuing and this is being treated as a concern for person incident.”
