A 13 year old boy's been assaulted in Clydebank

Officers say he made his own way to hospital to be treated for a facial injury

An investigation's under way following assault of 13-year-old boy in Clydebank yesterday afternoon.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the attack, which has left the boy with a facial injury.

Around 2pm on Saturday 28 January, 2023, a male youth was walking on Great Western Road, near to the World of Golf, when a man approached him and assaulted him.

The youth sustained a facial injury and made his own way to hospital.

Enquiries carried out so far have established that a vehicle stopped and two people got out to assist the youth. Officers are asking these people to contact them as they could have vital information which would assist the investigation.

Constable Adam Cairns said: “This boy was walking along the street when a man has assaulted him for no apparent reason. It’s important we establish exactly what has happened and why. I would ask anyone in the area who may have witnessed the incident to contact us. I would also request anyone with recording devices, such as dash cams, to check the footage as it could hold images which could provide us with additional information.”
