12 year-old boy found drunk, suffering from hypothermia in Cumbernauld

A group of kids have been warned about the dangers of drinking by Police in North Lanarkshire, after one of them was found drunk and suffering from hypothermia on Friday night.

A group of kids have been warned about the dangers of drinking by Police in North Lanarkshire, after one of them was found drunk and suffering from hypothermia on Friday night.

Two members of the public discovered the 12 year-old lying in bushes in the Westerwood area of Cumbernauld.

He was taken to hospital and has made a full recovery.

Local area police inspector Philip Rose, said:

"We believe if it had not been for the actions of the man and woman the consequences for this boy could have been tragic.

"Thankfully he has made a full recovery. Advice has been given to him and his friends re the dangers of alcohol as well as wandering away from friends without telling them."
