Four people were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a flat fire in North Lanarkshire on Sunday evening.
Firefighters led 12 people, including four children, to safey from the blaze - it broke out around 5pm at a home in Sidlaw Court in Coatbridge.
An investigation into the cause is now underway.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “At 5.26pm on Sunday, 2 April the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of a fire within a block of flats at Sidlaw Court in Coatbridge.
“Six appliances attended and firefighters using breathing apparatus and a high-power hose extinguished the fire.
“A total of eight adults and four children were led to safety from the property.
“Four of the adults suffered the effects of smoke inhalation and were transferred into the care of paramedics.
“Crews ensured the area was made safe before leaving the scene.”
