60 jobs are being created in Glasgow as a new Italian restaurant opens its doors in the city's business district.

Gusto is on the site of the former Clydesdale bank building on Bothwell Street.

Bosses at the new eatery hope to expand with new restaurants opening in Aberdeen and Dundee to add to the existing one in Edinburgh.

Gusto Business Development Manager Gordon McGuire said: “We're very excited about Gusto opening, Glasgow is such a vibrant and metropolitan city and we're delighted to be at the heart of it. We've put a lot of time and effort into getting all the little things with the venue spot on, so hopefully the people of Glasgow will enjoy what we have done".

The 150 cover restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace space for 30 will serve a modern twist on Italian brasserie classics.

The venue will be open to the public from 11am on Saturday 11th April.
