Top tips to help you save money on your next holiday
Save money and get exclusive discounts
If you're organised you may well have booked your family summer holiday already. If you haven't here are some tips to getting the best price…
When deciding when and where to go…
Is there a cheapest day of the week to fly?
Yes! It tends to be Tuesday because it's not a big day for business travel, but another tip is to fly early in the morning. These flights are often cheaper and there are fewer chances of delays –no one wants a 4 hour delay!
Be flexible
Rather than just searching by the date or destination try filtering your results to ensure that you’re seeing the best possible price available - keep your eye out for offers such as free kids clubs or inclusive transfers, it all adds up.
Be open to something different
If you aren’t restricted by school holiday dates, then be as flexible as you possibly can be. Being open to travelling from a different airport or via a different airport can save you money.
Receive offers straight to your inbox
If you sign-up to receive emails at Clyde 1 Escapes we’ll send you holidays both in the UK and abroad direct to your inbox and all up to 70% off.
Once you have booked…
Taxi
If you’re travelling to the airport by taxi book this straight away once you’ve secured your flights and try to get a few quotes – often taxi companies will offer discounts for travelling with others or if you use them for your return journey too.
Currency
Check the exchange rate - commission-free doesn't mean profit free so shop around before exchanging currency. Supermarkets and high street travel agents offer good rates which are often better than operators based in the airport.
Staying connected
Do you know how much it will cost you to make and receive mobile phone calls abroad? Check your contract and turn off your data roaming to avoid unwanted charges to your bill.
