DIY pumpkin decorations that you need to try out this Halloween

Create your own autumn decorations with a little inspiration from the Internet

Published 11th Oct 2022

Ah, autumn, how we love you so. Cold weather, knitted jumpers, pumpkin spice lattes and of course - Halloween. If like us, you get fully into the swing of autumn, you’ll already be looking for ways to spook-ify your house, but in a tasteful way, obviously.

The iconic gourd of October is the pumpkin, known for its recognisable orange hue and all the memories you have of trying to carve a really cool face but failing miserably. If you’re a bit of a home decor guru and can’t bear the idea of having dodgy-faced pumpkins covering your house, we’ve got just the thing.

These DIY (mostly) no-carve pumpkin decorations are easy to do and will give you the most Instagrammable autumn decor on your street.

Chalk Paint, 35 Colours, from £10.50

Who says pumpkins have to be orange? Many of us don't, in fact, have bright orange decor in our homes, which is why using something like chalk paint is a brilliant way to get pumpkins that perfectly match your colour scheme. Try pastel colours for a subdued Halloween display, or go bold with black and bright colours. Check out these gorgeous white pumpkins from @wildrosecountryhome for inspiration.
