"We aren't American"

There's absolutely no denying the fact that ITV's early evening show The Chase is one of the most popular quiz shows on TV. Whether it's host Bradley Walsh's hilarious antics, the professional chasers, or the horribly awkward moment when the contestants take the lower offer, it really is TV gold.

However, many viewers of Wednesday night's show (23rd October), were left fuming at one particular question, with many thinking the show 'got an answer wrong'.

When a contestant called Alun faced Chaser Shaun Wallace (AKA The Dark Destroyer), the final question which would determine Alun's fate on the show left viewers VERY confused... And annoyed.

Bradley asked the question, "Which of these is the act of accidentally phoning someone when carrying a mobile phone in your back pocket?"

As usual, three potential options were given, A) butt dial, B) booty call, or C) bottom ring.

When Alun chose 'B', it was revealed that 'butt dial' was in fact the correct answer, leaving viewers at home slamming the show for using American language.

One user wrote, 'It's not a butt dial. It's a bum dial. We aren't American...', with another writing, 'Only the Americans would use the term "butt dial" #TheChase'. sic

Another angry fan then wrote, 'Butt dial?? That’s harsh #TheChase'. sic

A fourth added, 'Since when was it called a butt dial? #thechase'. sic

Even Bradley was confused, saying, "I've never called it that! Butt dial? Never heard of that. It's tough to go out on that. Never heard of it."

Meanwhile, in other news about The Chase, quiz master Jenny Ryan was brought back to The X Factor: Celebrity after a tonne of complaints when she was given the boot during last weekend's show.

The 37-year-old, who admitted that singing helped her get over depression, will perform on Saturday night's live show along with the likes of Vinnie Jones and Megan McKenna.
