Good Morning Britain fans were left somewhat heartbroken this morning when Piers Morgan made a shock announcement regarding his career on the show.

The 53-year-old announced this morning (Thursday 7th February) that this show will be his last, confirming he is leaving the show in order to 'take a break'.

Although we're sure co-host Susanna Reid is devastated, thankfully we can all hold back our tears as the controversial presenter has revealed he will in fact be back in three weeks time.

Susanna took to Twitter to share a playful selfie of the duo, writing, 'Sadly, our last morning together for three weeks... @gmb' sic

After Piers added to Susanna's tweet, saying, 'I look completely demented. It’s time for a break.' sic, fans were quick to respond with mixed views.

One fan wrote, 'GMB will be gutted with the ratings loss , hurry up back , mornings are just funnier and more interesting when your on TV .' sic, with another saying, 'Ha. Ha. Your a wild one Piers! 😊 love ya. God bless.' sic.

Others, however, weren't too upset about Piers announcing his break, with one person writing, 'Please. A long one.' and another saying, 'Brilliant keep off Twitter aswell 🤣' sic
