Although it originally aired on Irish channel RTÉ back in September 2021, crime drama Kin has picked up even more fans in recent years, as the BBC acquired the rights to the show in 2023.

With two series captivating audiences already, fans have been calling out for a third series of the drama, which tells the story of a fictional Dublin family embroiled in gangland war.

Will there be a third series of Kin?

It had looked like there would never be a third series of the show, after it was reported that the contracts of the actors in the series had ended, after they were originally signed for three years back in 2020.

However, whilst speaking on This Morning to promote series two of Channel 5 drama The Teacher in September, actor Emmett J. Scanlan seemingly suggested there's a bit of a 'bidding war' going on for the third series.

Speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Emmett said: "I don't know if there's going to be a season three, it hasn't been green lit yet. There is a little bit of a, I don't know if I'm stepping out of line when I say this, but there's maybe even a bidding war, but there is a lot of interest.

"I hope it comes back again, I'd love to take on the role of Jimmy again. I loved it."

It sounds like there's some hope! 🙏
