Friends fans have been desperate for a reunion show pretty much since the show ended in 2004. After 10 years of being in one of the most popular TV shows of all time, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew LeBlanc called it a day and have all gone on to have successful careers.

Although all six of them have at one time or another said that they'd never go back and reunite to see what the Friends gang would be up to these days, they're still continually asked about it - and fans of the show are still hopeful it could happen.

But despite each of the Friends cast formerly stating they'd never go back, Jennifer Aniston - AKA Rachel Green - has told Ellen DeGeneres that a reboot of sorts is being planned.

Speaking on Ellen while promoting her new show The Morning Show, Jennifer said that while there wouldn't be a reboot of the show, they want to do something for the fans.

"We would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is," she told the daytime host when she appeared on the show alongside Friends super fan Charlie Puth. "So we're just trying - we're really - we're working on something."

When pushed as to whether that something might just be a Friends movie, Jennifer exclaimed "I don't know yet! I don't want to lead people on!"

Friends

We all know and love it as Friends, but the TV show could have been called something very different...

She also said back in December 2018 on The Late, Late Show to James Corden that while she, Lisa and Courteney would be up for a remake, it's actually the male actors who aren't so keen.

"Listen, the girls always say we would love to do it again," she explained, "And the boys are a little less excited about it for some reason — I don’t know. And so, we’ve decided that we’ll just do... a remake of The Golden Girls in 40 years."

This comes after director Kevin S. Bright told Metro.co.uk that he wouldn't be keen for a reunion back in October. He said, "I love David Crane’s quote that, '50-year-olds hanging out in a coffee shop would be pathetic'. If we did come back it would be the same characters but wouldn’t be the same show.

"They’re at different places in their lives, potentially divorces, and so we feel just like letting them go off into the sunset is one of the things which keeps them going in people’s minds; wondering what they do and did the marriage last and what did the kids grow up to be like. I think that’s best left to the audience."

Well, it does make sense - but we'd still love to know!
