Tension rises in EastEnders next week and it all kicks off with Mel and Hunter Owen. Mel has been guilt-ridden since her son Hunter Owen killed her husband Ray Kelly after he tried to strangle her.

She recently discovered that her son kept the gun he used to kill his step-dad and next week, things are set to get even more dramatic when she prepares to come clean to the police. She then does a complete U-turn and plans to flee the Square – will they get away in time?

Meanwhile on the Square, Ruby Allen shares some harsh words with Jay Brown but after the pair kiss and make up they head out on a double date with Stacey and Martin Fowler.

Also Jean Slater ends things with Ian Beale, Mo Slater loses Tommy Moon, Keanu Taylor has words with Sharon Mitchell, Masood Ahmed has surprising news and Kathy Beale returns to the Square.

Mel Owen prepares to reveal all to the police

The week begins with Mel still struggling after her son killed her husband. She concludes that enough is enough and decides to tell the police everything. After writing down everything that happened on New Year's Day, she tries to reassure Hunter it's for the best.

Later on she begins to worry when she can't find her son.

Before all that drama happens, here's everything that's set to happen on EastEnders this week... Hunter Owen begins to spiral out of control when he provokes Keanu Taylor and they end up having a physical fight. Hunter's actions leave Mel Owen worried, Jack Branning alarmed and Phil Mitchell concerned.

Also on the Square, Sharon Mitchell returns to the Square and Louise Mitchell makes her 'relationship' with Keanu Taylor official on social media but he's not too keen.

Denise Fox celebrates her 50th birthday, Jay Brown and Ruby Allen head out on their first date and Mick Carter and Mitch Baker's friendship continues to grow.

EastEnders airs on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
