A very famous actor's son joins House of the Dragon cast

House of the Dragon will leap forward a decade this weekend, as the sixth episode showcases an older cast and further plot twist.

Ty Tennant joins the cast, who is the eldest son of David and Georgia Tennant.

Taking on the pivotal role of Aegon Targaryen, the son of King Viserys and Alicent Hightower, Ty is following in his family’s footsteps on screen.

In a new trailer released ahead of episode six, Tennant's character is overheard being told that he will be king 😱.

This will be Tennant's biggest role to date, his previous work includes Casualty, War of the Worlds, Doom Patrol and Around the World in 80 Days.

Fans are going wild online for a potential scene with former Doctor Who star and cast mate Matt Smith, who will plays his uncle Prince Daemon Targaryen in the show.

This next episode will see Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke make their debuts as the adult lead characters Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower.

Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen

The younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne, Daemon is a peerless warrior and a dragonrider who possesses the true blood of the dragon.

Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower

Olivia's the daughter of Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King, and the most attractive woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.

Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen

Viserys was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the Old King, Jaehaerys Targaryen. A warm, kind, and decent man - but as we've learned from Game of Thrones, good men do not necessarily make for great kings.

Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower

The Hand of the King, Ser Otto loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king's brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.

Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen

The king's first-born child, Rhaenyra is of pure Valyrian blood and is a skilled dragonrider. Her only downfall is that she was not born a man.

Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole

Ser Criston Cole hails from Dorne and is the son of a steward of Lord Blackhaven. As a noble, he has no claim to lands or titles.
