Love Island's Curtis Pritchard has announced he's decided to leave the Irish version of Dancing With the Stars, following his appearance on the hit ITV2 dating show. He has said he's too busy with other TV and theatre ventures, including an upcoming pantomime production of Dick Whittington, which means the schedules would clash.

Speaking to RSVP Live, Curtis said, "I was part of Dancing With The Stars for three years. The show was a massive part of my life and I loved every single minute of it. It was a massive journey for me but I am not a part of it anymore."

However, the 23-year-old, who has made his relationship with fellow contestant Maura Higgins official, has insisted there's no bad blood with the show, revealing he has been supporting the dancers from the show as they hit the road on their own arena tour.

He said, “I booked a ticket myself and I came alone, I didn’t tell anyone that I was coming here. I wanted to come and support the tour because the show was a big part of my life."

Curtis' revelation comes after he confessed he thought he was going to be "stabbed" during an attack on himself and brother AJ Pritchard last Christmas.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, the professional dancer said, "We're lucky with what happened because it could have been a lot worse. One of us could have been stabbed or anything. I don't even want to think about it."

It has since been announced the police investigation looking into the attack has been dropped.
