The best bits from The BRIT Awards 2019

Last year's show was spectacular!

Author: Alex RossPublished 24th Jan 2020

We always knew the BRIT Awards 2019 would be an amazing show, but the ceremony really exceeded our expectations! Whether it was the classic red carpet craziness, Hugh Jackman's show-stopping opening, Little Mix's insane performance of 'Woman Like Me', or P!nk's iconic set, what a night it was!

As The Brit Awards 2020 with Mastercard takes place at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday 18th February, we've decided to take a look back at the best bits from last year's show.

1. Little Mix showing the love on the red carpet

As well as walking the red carpet with their boyfriends, Little Mix girls Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson showed their fans some love as they looked STUNNING all dressed up.

2. Hugh Jackman's Greatest Showman opening

As The Greatest Showman fever continued to buzz around the world, actor Hugh Jackman delighted viewers by opening the BRIT Awards 2019 with a spectacular performance of 'The Greatest Show' from the hugely popular movie.

BRITs host and comedian Jack Whitehall even made a hilarious cameo...

3. George Ezra rocking out with his brass band

After picking up his award for British Male Solo Artist, the lovely George Ezra brought the house down with his massive hit single 'Shotgun', whilst being accompanied on stage by a brass band!

4. Jack Whitehall's hilarious, yet controversial commentary

After his performance in 2018, comedian Jack Whitehall was never going to tame down his act, proceeding to mock many celebs at the 2019 BRITs, much to the delight of viewers.

Whether it was his brexit talk, the moment he made Shawn Mendes blush, or his continuous mocking of FYRE Festival, he certainly made viewers laugh.

5. Tom Walker's adorable acceptance speech

Scottish singer Tom Walker possibly gave one of the cutest acceptance speeches of the night when he won his first ever BRIT Award in the British Breakthrough category.

After thanking his team and fans, Tom, who's debut single 'Leave A Light On' smashed records, went on to give a shout out to his gran! ❤️

6. The moment Jack Whitehall kicked 'Baby Shark' out of the building

"Baby shark doo doo doo..." Nope, not at The BRITs! It may be one the biggest (and most annoying) songs of the last decade, but host Jack Whitehall wasn't having any baby sharks at London's 02 tonight!

Despite telling viewers The BRITs 'celebrates all music', Jack was quick to confirm 'Baby Shark' was a no go area, with security being filmed kicking them out. 🙈

7. Calvin Harris, Rag'n'Bone Man, Sam Smith and Dua Lipa's unforgettable collab

As if a performance by one of these amazing artists wasn't enough, the amazing Calvin Harris, Rag'n'Bone Man, Sam Smith AND Dua Lipa set the BRITs stage alight when they joined together for an epic collaboration.

After Rag'n'Bone Man performed 'Giants', Sam Smith joined the stage to sing his hit single 'Promises', before Dua Lipa finished the show with an insane performance of 'One Kiss'.

8. Little Mix's reaction to winning British Artist Video of the Year

They'd been asking for votes for weeks, but Little Mix singers Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock couldn't believe their luck when they were crowned the winners of British Artist Video of the Year for their hit single 'Woman Like Me'.

The girls expressed their excitement as they celebrated on their table, before thanking their fans in a cute speech on stage.

9. Jess Glynne's emotional performance of 'Thursday'

Jess Glynne brought silence to the room when she performed her massive single 'Thursday' alongside H.E.R. As she performed the single, Jess proceeded to remove her make-up, leaving the room stunned with her amazing vocals.

10. P!nk's showstopping closing performance

After a massive 15 years away from The BRITs, Outstanding Contribution to Music winner P!nk closed the show with a simply incredible performance! Delighting fans with a medley of her hit songs, P!nk was joined by Dan from Bastille to sing 'Just Give Me A Reason', before belting out hits such as 'Try' and 'What About Us'.

Showing exactly why she's one of the biggest performers in the world, P!nk's performance was filled with flame throwers, water, trapeze stunts and incredible storytelling, which was later capped off with the singer showcasing her stunning vocals.
