Strictly's Aston Merrygold blasted as 'shameful' by angry viewers

Strictly Come Dancing star Aston Merrygold has left viewers livid after his performance on Saturday night, with some calling him 'shameful', 'distasteful' and 'narcissistic'.
The 29-year-old former-JLS star performed a stunning sequence with Strictly Come Dancing dance partner Janette Manrara to popular Nirvana song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.
Aston and Janette performed their dance routine extremely well and their performance went down well in the studio and with the judges. In fact, they came an impressive second on the leaderboard.
However, viewers at home were left 'raging' at Aston's earlier VT in which we saw Aston getting into the spirit of things by practising his dance routine in an actual grave yard.
Fans called it 'disrespectful to the dead' as Aston and Janette were seen dancing in a grave yard, for entertainment purposes.
One disgruntled viewer posted on Twitter, 'A little insensitive Aston and Janette dancing around peoples graves to practice for tonight!' sic
Another wrote, 'Have to say I thought that Aston and Janette rehearsing in a cemetery was in extremely poor taste.'
Another fumed, 'Aston literally dancing on several graves. Shameless, narcissistic, disrespectful.'
Others were quick to express how amazing Aston's performance was, with some claiming he has to be in the final.
Despite his controversial performance, Aston sailed through last night's results show.
It was celebrity chef Simon Rimmer who lost his place after losing out in the dance-off to Mollie King and her partner AJ Pritchard.
After Simon and his partner Karen performed the Viennese Waltz, and Mollie and AJ performed the Cha Cha Cha, all four judges chose to keep Mollie in the competition, sending home Simon.
After his departure, Simon took to Twitter to thank everybody for the experience, he wrote, 'Love and thanks to you all. @karen_hauer is the freaking best ever. Loved every second @bbcstrictly . Leaving head high and proud x' sic
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday and Sunday.
