Tom Walker has released the follow-up to 'Better Half Of Me', 'Wait For You', a song he has written while he has been in lockdown over the past few months.

We'll be playing Tom Walker's new song on Clyde 1

The song is inspired by events that happened to a friend 15 years ago, which affected him and his family a huge amount, but they got through it. And now, Tom says his friend is one of the happiest people, despite what happened all those years ago.

Announcing his new music a few days before the release, Tom said in his first tweet, 'The last few weeks have been a turbulent time for all of us with recent events especially making us think long and hard about the world we live in.'

He continued, 'Putting my emotions into songs has always been sort of a therapy for me...'.

The singer also shared a short clip from his new song, continuing in a second tweet, 'this is something that has really helped me through quarantine & these unsettling times we are facing. So I wanted to release a new song for you called "Wait For You" which I recorded in Lockdown and which I hope evokes a feeling of connectivity, togetherness and positivity.'

Tom has yet to release a music video for his new song, however he's released the audio on YouTube which uses the artwork for his single.

'Wait For You' is the follow-up to Tom's 2019 single 'Better Half Of Me' and last year we caught up with Tom who told us about the inspiration behind his 2019 hit.

Tom admitted it was about his fiancée as he's always on tour and has seen her "probably 40 times" over the past 12 months! Revealing that the pair will be looking to buy a place together next year, Tom said that as they live in London, he'll have to wait until they've got somewhere before getting married as otherwise it might "bankrupt" him! 😂
