Taylor Swift is apparently trademarking a bunch of phrases from her forthcoming album ‘Reputation’. According to TMZ, Tay-Tay has filled to trademark a number of phrases and words from her new album.
They include her comeback single’s title ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and its iconic line ‘the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now, plus the album’s title ‘Reputation’.
According the documents Tay-Tay’s filled she wants to use the phrases on merchandise like t-shirts, notebooks, guitar picks, pyjamas, gloves, scarves, belts and pretty much every other item of clothing you can think of.
Swift has always been hot on trademarking phrases. From her 1989 album, She trademarked the lyrics ‘this sick beat’ from ‘Shake It Off’, ‘could show you incredible things’ and ‘nice to meet you, where you been? from ‘Blank Space’ and ‘cause we never go out of style’ from ‘Style’.
Taylor’s sixth studio album ‘Reputation’ is set to land on 10th November.
The lead single from the album ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ got everyone talking when it landed. ‘LWYMMD’ to fans has smashed streaming and video record since its release. The video has amassed seriously impressive 184 million views on YouTube and was played an estimated 39 million times in the 24 hours after its release. That’s 12 million more times than Adele’s ‘Hello’ which previously held the record for most online plays in 24 hours with 27 million plays.
Earlier this week, Taylor served up her second single from the album. The singer, aged 27, dropped ‘Ready For It?’ over the weekend. In the track she sings ‘Knew he was a killer first time that I saw him. Wonder how many girls he loved and left haunted. But if he’s a ghost, then I can be a phantom. Holding him for ransom’. In the chorus, Tay-Tay sings ‘in the middle of the night, in my dreams you should see the things we do, baby. In the middle of the night, in my dreams I know I’m gonna be with you, So I take my time, are you ready for it?
