Who is Sabrina Carpenter?

Sabrina Carpenter is an American singer, songwriter and actress, from Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Known for earlier releases such as 'Thumbs', Sabrina's latest singles - such as 'Feather', 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' - have gained her worldwide recognition and cemented her as a pop superstar.

After making her acting debut back in 2011, she soon bagged a leading role in the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World, and after featuring in various Disney titles, Sabrina branched out into the world of music - following in the footsteps of Disney legends such as Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.

Interestingly, Sabrina is also the niece of award-winning actress Nancy Cartwright, who is famously known as the talented voice behind Bart Simpson.

How old is she?

Sabrina was born on 11th May 1999, making her 25-years-old at the time of writing.

How did she become famous?

Like a few pop superstars out there, Sabrina Carpenter's journey to stardom started with the double dose of acting and singing. Landing her first role back in 2011, Sabrina bagged a guest role on Law & Order: SVU, appearing as a character named Paula.

Sabrina then featured in the odd TV show and film here and there - including Noobz, Orange Is the New Black and Austin & Ally - and even dabbled in voice acting for Disney's hit show Phineas and Ferb. 2014, however, saw her land her biggest role yet, bagging a lead role of Maya Hart in Disney's Girl Meets World. Appearing in a total of 72 episodes of the show, she continued her role up until 2017.

Charming audiences on the screen, Sabrina was also fine tuning her musical skills from early on, recording the Girl Meets World's theme song alongside her co-star Rowan Blanchard. She signed a five-album deal with Hollywood Records, releasing her debut single 'Can't Blame a Girl for Trying' in 2014, and has since released five albums - 'Eyes Wide Open' (2015), 'Evolution' (2016), 'Singular: Act I' (2018), 'Singular: Act II' (2019) and 'Emails I Can't Send' (2022).

When is she releasing her next album?

Her sixth album, 'Short n' Sweet', is due to be released on 23rd August 2024.

The album will be released through Island Records, and will include her hit singles 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please'.

How tall is she?

A seemingly popular topic surrounding Sabrina Carpenter is the question of how tall she is. Well, the singer reportedly stands at 1.51 metres, which is ever-so-slightly under the 5ft mark - making her upcoming album title 'Short n' Sweet' very apt!

Sabrina has become known for her 'Babydoll' looks - with sweet tutu and slip dresses.

What are her biggest and most popular songs?

🚨 WARNING: Some of theses songs may contain explicit language!

'Feather'

Sabrina released her track 'Feather' on 4th August 2023, with a colourful music video dropping on 31st October. The song featured on her fifth album 'Emails I Can't Send', and flew into the Top 20 in the UK chart.

The song was a huge hit with fans, and arguably shot Sabrina into worldwide stardom, with the song now certified Silver in the UK, and Platinum in the US, with the music video having accumulated almost 60 million views.

'Espresso'

'Espresso' was Sabrina's next huge hit, with her showcasing the tune during her performance at Coachella 2024. A TikTok viral bop, the song is set to feature on her upcoming sixth album 'Short n' Sweet'.

Released on 11th April 2024 - and providing us with the iconic line: "I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer" - the track serves as the lead single from her sixth album, and following its release the official music video has amassed over 62 million views. As of June 2024, the track is certified Platinum in both the UK and US.

'Espresso' debuted at Number 6 in the UK chart, before rising to Number 5, and then hitting the Number 1 spot two weeks after its initial chart debut - serving as her first UK Number 1!

'Please Please Please'

Serving as the second single from her sixth album, Sabrina released 'Please Please Please' on 6th June 2024. Thanks to its catchy lyrics and pop/country blend, the track was an instant hit, swiftly going viral on TikTok and becoming a statement track for the singer.

The music video, which accumulated 28 million views in just two weeks, was released alongside the track - and it's fair to say that it got fans talking, as it featured Sabrina's actor boyfriend Barry Keoghan.

The song shot to the Number 3 spot on the UK chart, hitting Number 2 in the US.

'Nonsense'

Featuring on her second studio album 'Evolution', it hit Number 1 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles, as well as Number 28 on the US Billboard Mainstream Top 40.

Who is Sabrina Carpenter dating?

As of 2024, Sabrina is currently dating Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who is famed for his role in 2023's hit film Saltburn, alongside Aussie actor Jacob Elordi, and his short appearance as The Joker in 2022's The Batman, alongside Robert Pattinson - a role he is thought to reprise in the upcoming sequel.

Rumours that Sabrina and Barry were dating began in late 2023, when they were spotted out and about with one another, looking pretty smitten. Their romance was later confirmed as they appeared on multiple red carpets together - including the Meta Gala 2024 and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Then, in an iconic Sabrina manner, she had Barry star in her music video for the single 'Please Please Please'.

Like many of our favourite celebs, Sabrina's love life so far has been a fruitful mix of confirmed romances and rumoured flings. Following a publicly confirmed relationship with a fellow Disney star, Bradley Steven Perry, in 2014, there was later speculation around her connection to High School Musical The Musical The Series star Joshua Bassett in 2020.

Although neither of the pair confirmed - or denied 👀 - the romance, they appeared very close and often posted each other on their social medias. The pair's alleged relationship got many fans talking at the time, with rumours swirling that Sabrina is 'that blonde girl' mentioned in Olivia Rodrigo's 'drivers licence'.

Fans believed Olivia and Joshua were in a relationship, prior to him being connected to Sabrina - and with 'drivers licence' thought the be about her breakup with Josh, many believe Sabrina to be 'that blonde girl, who always made me doubt'.

The fan theories continue as others suggest Sabrina's track 'Skin' is the singer's response - including lyrics such as: 'Maybe we could've been friends, if I met you in another life. Maybe then we could pretend there's no gravity in the words we write. Maybe you didn't mean it, maybe blonde was the only rhyme'.

What are her funniest quotes?

As well as being a talented actress, singer and songwriter, Sabrina has also become well-known for her hilarious sense of humour, delivering some classic one-liners that have gone TikTok viral plenty of times.

Whether it's witty remarks, improvised lyrics or simply catchy lines of her songs, here's a few of her best viral quotes...

During performance on Saturday Night Live on 18th May 2024, who can forget her iconic: "I'm on SNL and you're not!"

And at Coachella 2024, Sabrina once again went viral for improvising the 'Nonsense' outro, singing: "He's drinking my bathwater like it's red wine, Coachella see you back here when I headline!"

And, of course, the iconic: "I'm working late, 'cause I'm a singer", from her Number 1 hit 'Espresso'.

Which TV shows and films has she been in?

Sabrina has featured in many TV shows and films in her time - even offering her vocals up and serving as a voice actor here and there! Starting off featuring in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2011, Sabrina went on to voice a guest role in Disney's Phineas and Ferb a year later.

Speaking about her short feature in the popular Disney show, Sabrina told WIRED: "It's interesting, 'cause I ended up working with the creators, Dan and Swampy, of Phineas and Ferb on my next animated series Milo Murphy's law, but I was just like a small guest role. I went in for the day, and it was kind of like one of my first voiceover jobs where they just had me do a bunch of like random voices.

"I literally don't even remember who I even played, but there's like, throughout a few different episodes, me as just random guest things", continuing: "If you find it, let me know!"

From 2012-2016, Sabrina then featured in films such Zoobz (2012), Gulliver Quinn (2012), Horns (2013) and Adventures in Babysitting (2016). She also featured in plenty of TV shows, including The Goodwin Games (2013), Orange Is the New Black (2013), Austin & Ally (2013), Wander Over Yonder (2016) and Walk the Prank (2016).

From 2014-2017, Sabrina played a lead role in Disney's Girl Meets World, starring as Maya Hart, in what was her biggest role to date. She featured in three seasons, for a total of 72 episodes.

Sabrina also appeared in the Tall Girl films, appearing in both the first and second movies, as lead character Jodie Kreyman's beauty pageant sister, Harper.
