Rod Stewart confirmed to close The BRITs 2020

Sir Rod Stewart has been confirmed to close this year's BRIT Awards. The music icon will take to the stage in London's O2 Arena, where this year the huge music awards show will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The announcement was made on The BRITs socials with a number of fans commenting on how excited they were about the news. One fan said, 'Huge news can’t wait', with another saying, 'K I N G ❤️'. One more fan wrote, '🙌 bit if rod mate!!!!' sic

This year will be the second time that the 'Baby Jane' singer has performed at the BRITs, the first being in 1993 where he picked up the Outstanding Contribution award. Over the years, Rod has received many huge awards including, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, as a solo artist - then again in 2012 as a member of Faces. He has also received a GRAMMY for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album - 'Stardust ... The Great American Songbook Volume III' in 2005.

Rod Stewart has a career spanning a massive five decades and has had 26 Top 10 singles in the UK, including 'Every Beat of My Heart', 'Rhythm of My Heart' and 'All for Love' with Bryan Adams and Sting.

Rod will close this year's BRITs, joining the previously announced line-up of Billie Eilish, Celeste, Dave, Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, Mabel and Stormzy. The BRIT Awards will also be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall for the third time in a row.
