Neon Jungle Announce Very Special 'Grow Wild' Rooftop Gig
To support a UK wild flowers campaign
The unstoppable Neon Jungle are playing a very special rooftop gig in London next month.
Hosted at a secret venue on Sunday 6th April, the event is being held to celebrate Neon Jungle joining forces with a campaign called Grow Wild.
The brainchild of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Grow Wild is a dynamic nationwide campaign to inspire people to transform unloved spaces with beautiful UK native wild flowers.
Britain has lost a mind-blowing 97% of its native wild flower meadows in the past 70 years so the imitative is encouraging young people to sow, grow and get outdoors to enjoy UK native wild flowers.
In turn, the plants then support habitats for pollinating insects, birds, butterflies and bees.
Asami says: “There are just 3% of our wild flower meadows left in the UK. We really wanted to get involved in the Grow Wild campaign because we hope that as a band we can make a real difference. We want to inspire our fans to get involved and sow some seeds!”
Jess continues: “What we also love about the campaign is that everyone can take part. You don’t need a garden, you just need to look around you and there are so many places you can sow seeds. We will be getting creative and sowing our Grow Wild seeds at home and in different spaces across the UK when we’re on the road this spring.”
Shereen adds: “We were all lucky enough to grow up with gardens even though Jess and Amira are from London. We all love nature and think it’s important to protect it. I can’t imagine there not being any wild flowers anymore – they look so pretty, and everyone should be able to enjoy them!”
And Amira says: “You can get really creative when sowing your seeds – you can really put your personality into it. People can show us what they’ve created, by uploading their pics to the Grow Wild Facebook page.”
Tickets to the very special rooftop gig are up for grabs on the **** right now.
