Mumford & Sons headline Reading & Leeds Festivals alongside Metallica

The festivals get bigger and better every year

Mumford & Sons have been named as Main Stage headliners at the Reading & Leeds music festivals alongside previously announced Metallica.

The British rock band last appeared at the Festivals in 2010 performing to a packed crowd at the NME Stage.

Other acts to appear across the weekend include Bastille, Royal Blood, Deadmau5 and Wolf Alice.

Festival boss, Melvin Benn, said: “I’m delighted to have secured Mumford & Sons for Main Stage headliners this summer and can’t wait to see them return to the Festivals for their first UK performance in over two years.

“With today’s announcement of a further eight great acts joining the bill, the Reading & Leeds line-up is already shaping up to be one of the best ever and I’m looking forward to revealing the third headliner and even more great artists soon.”

The full list of acts announced on 2nd February are: Mumford & Sons, Royal Blood, Bastille, Deadmau5, Rebel Sound feat. Chase & Status and Rage, David Rodigan and Shy FX, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Years and Years, Wolf Alice, Pretty Vicious, Jack Garratt and Hannah Wants.

Previously announced acts include: Metallica, Jamie T, Pierce The Veil, Wilkinson and Run The Jewels.

Both festivals will take place on 28th - 30th August at Richfield Avenue, Reading and Bramham Park, Leeds.
