Little Mix have cancelled their entire North American leg of their Salute tour.
The girls were due to play 18 huge shows in the US and Canada this autumn but now say they’re going to focus on completing their third studio album.
Under the title ‘Important Message For Out US Mixers’, the statement reads:
"As a group we decided that creating an amazing 3rd album had to take priority. We're so sorry to all the Mixers who bought tickets to come and see the show. As soon as the album is finished, we promise to make plans to return to the US and perform for you all."
Fans with tickets to the shows can get a refund from the point of purchase.
Earlier this year, Little Mix scored their second Top 10 album entry on the US Billboard 200 chart when ‘Salute’ stormed in at number six selling 43,000 copies. Their debut ‘DNA’ reached number four in May 2013.
Last month, Jesy Nelson told Digital Spy the girls only had a very short window to record their third record.
"We have a week off and then we are literally back in the studio on the Monday," Jesy said. "We've got to write the album in two weeks."
Little Mix wrapped up their UK and Ireland tour last month.
