He joins ska band Victorian Trout Conspiracy

Ed Sheeran played a surprise gig in a Scottish pub this week with a 10-piece local ska band.

The flame-haired troubadour joined the 10-piece outfit The Victorian Trout Conspiracy at the Breadalbane Arms in Aberfeldy for a rendition of their song ‘Ciderbam’.

However, rather than lending his vocals or guitar playing skills on the song, Ed took up tambourine duties in front of the shocked onlookers.

Shortly afterwards, Ed treated the pub to an acoustic rendition of his smash hit 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You'.

Victorian Trout Conspiracy guitarist Phil Ramsey admitted he wasn’t even sure who Ed was.

The Daily Record quotes him as saying: "I was midway through our third set when some boy asked if he could do a wee set.

“I had no idea who he was but turns out he’s pure famous.”

Ed returns to Scotland this autumn when he plays two nights at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow as part of his UK & Ireland arena tour.
