Daft Punk, Ellie Goulding and Robin Thicke are among the big name nominees for The Q Awards 2013!
!Taking place in London on Monday 21st October, Q Magazine’s annual awards ceremony will honour the greatest music of the past year as voted by the readers themselves.
Music legend David Bowie leads the charge with six prestigious nominations, Arctic Monkeys have four and Foals and Daft Punk have three each.
Ellie Goulding is up for two awards – Q Best Track for ‘Burn’ and Q Best Solo artist where she’ll battle it out with Jake Bugg, Laura Marling, John Grant and David Bowie.
She enthused: “It means so much to be nominated for a Q award, I have read and loved Q Magazine for as long as I can remember. It’s an honour to be nominated in these categories with these nominees.”
Other notable nominees include Disclosure and Tom Odell (Q Best New Act), Mumford & Sons (Q Best Live Act), Robin Thicke ft TI and Pharell (Q Best Track for ‘Blurred Lines’) and Glastonbury Festival (Q Best Event).
The event will once again be hosted by Planet Rock DJ Al Murray aka The Pub Landlord who said: “October is the only month with a Q in it! It’s a thrill once more to be hosting what has to be the greatest event in the music calendar. Not that I can remember any of the previous Q Awards that I’ve hosted ”
