Cheryl Cole Has 'No Plans' Following Girls Aloud Split
She opens up in exclusive Grazia interview
Cheryl Cole has revealed she doesn’t have any concrete future plans and is enjoying “taking a break” from music following Girls Aloud’s split.
In an exclusive interview with Grazia Daily, 29-year-old Cheryl opened up about Girls Aloud’s Ten Tour calling the experience “an indescribable feeling.”
Following the final date of their 20-date UK & Ireland jaunt in Liverpool last month, Cheryl, Nadine, Sarah, Nicola and Kimberley said goodbye to career that saw them score 21 Top 10 singles and three number ones.
Beaming with pride, Cheryl told Grazia: “We’ve lived and breathed each other for years, all of our twenties and then we took the little break - well it was actually quite a long break in the end! - but it was actually quite special to be back together.
“It’s a chemistry that you will never have with anybody else and it’s a comfort blanket and all our fans are incredible. It was just like a big party, the whole tour. It was really special actually.”
Commenting to reports Girls Aloud broke down on stage in Liverpool, Cheryl added: “No one really cried on the last night - I did that the night before. It was really like ‘wow’. It really hit you hard and I couldn’t stop once I’d started the floodgates.
“It was the fans actually - there was a few at the front crying because we had a montage behind that was like a story of the ten years and once I’d gone, I didn’t stop for the whole of the last two songs so I got mine out the way and treated the last night like a party, like a celebration.”
Intriguingly, Cheryl admitted that her future is currently a blank canvas – something that equally excites and scares her.
She explained: “I was planning to release the third single before we decided to work with Girls Aloud but I decided to not to do that and to just dedicate myself completely to the girls because I thought it might be confusing and conflicting, you know?
“So I parked my album to make way for that and I haven’t really planned to do anything next which is actually strange and daunting and kind of okay. I’d planned to not plan and it’s actually really nice. I’m just taking a break now.”
