Lady Gaga reacts to rumours of a 'Telephone' sequel with Beyoncé
Could we be getting a follow-up to the 2010 hit?
Last updated 28th May 2024
Lady Gaga and Queen Bey's fans alike dusted off their detective caps earlier this year, as they began to speculate that we might just have another collaboration on the horizon between the pair - and now, over a decade after the release of their iconic track 'Telephone', the 'Rain On Me' singer has addressed the whispers!
Rumours of another collab began to swirl back in February 2024, when Beyoncé shared a teaser video for her country album 'Act II' that drew large similarities to the iconic 'Telephone' video. Now, Lady Gaga has addressed the matter, and it sounds like she's more than keen!
What has Lady Gaga said about collaborating with Beyoncé?
Attending the premiere of her concert film, Gaga Chromatica Ball, in LA on 23rd May 2024, Lady Gaga was asked about a potential follow-up to her and Beyoncé's 'Telephone', with the singer saying telling Entertainment Tonight: "You know what, whenever Beyoncé calls, I like to pick up the phone".
Neither confirming or denying that another collaboration between the pair could be coming our way, it sounds like Lady Gaga is eager to work with the superstar again. With Gaga also hinting that her new music will be released "soon", only time shall tell!
What clues have Lady Gaga and Beyoncé dropped?
As we all know, Gaga and Beyoncé released a music video which is arguably just as well-known as the track itself. Showing Lady Gaga being released from jail, and picked up in a truck by Beyoncé, the eventful video ends with the pair driving off into the distance - with the words 'To be continued' appearing on screen.

During the Super Bowl in February 2024, Beyoncé dropped two country-inspired songs - 'Texas Hold 'Em' and '16 Carriages' - whilst also sharing a teaser video for her then-upcoming album 'Act II'.
On top of other clues, the teaser clip provided fans with what they thought could be the biggest nod yet that another collab with Gaga was on the way - with many noticing the striking similarity between the clip, and the end to the 'Telephone' music video.
Piecing it together for us all, and sharing more details in a now viral post on X, Matt Suber shared four photos, showing stills from the videos, along with an Instagram post by Lady Gaga, taken from the Super Bowl game.
Lady Gaga can be seen holding two fingers up in the V sign, leading many to suggest it means 'Act II', the name of Beyoncé's album.
Of course, the album dropped in March, and although there were no signs of Gaga, that doesn't mean there aren't more clues to suggest we could still expect a 'Telephone' sequel...
Many fans also noticed is that the date Beyoncé revealed the news of her 'Act II' album, just happens to be the same date that Lady Gaga was sent to prison in the 'Telephone' video. 👀
In addition to this, as Lady Gaga's fans will know, the singer started teasing new music back in 2023, by posting pics from inside a studio surrounded by instruments and sheet music - which would date back perfectly to Beyoncé also hitting the studio.

On 16th August 2024, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars released a surprise collab called 'Die With A Smile'. The song is the duo's first collaboration and Lady Gaga explained how the collab came about, saying: "Bruno and I have a lot of mutual respect for each other and were talking about collaborating. I was finishing up my own album in Malibu and one night after a long day he asked me to come to his studio to hear something he was working on. It was around midnight when I got there and I was blown away when I heard what he had started making. We stayed up all night and finished writing and recording the song. Bruno's talent is beyond explanation. His musicianship and vision is next level. There's no one like him."
