Arctic Monkeys To Headline T in the Park 2014

They're the "delighted" about topping the bill

Arctic Monkeys have been unveiled as the first headliner of T in the Park next July.

The news comes in a triumphant year for the Sheffield indie-rockers, who are currently wowing on a sold-out UK arena tour and back in September scored their fifth consecutive number one album with ‘AM’.

Enthusing about their TITP slot, the band said: “We are delighted to be playing T in the Park and look forward to a great night with our Scottish fans.”

It will be the Arctic Monkeys’ third headline set in Balado, having previously stormed the Main Stage in 2007 and 2011.

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director, said: “After this year’s fantastic 20th year celebrations, we asked our audience who they’d like to see at next year’s festival and Arctic Monkeys came top of the poll, so we’re really pleased to be able to confirm them for T in the Park.

“When they take to the stage in Glasgow this week they’ll prove exactly why they’re one of the greatest live acts around, and I’m sure we can look forward to another phenomenal set at T in the Park.

“We have many more fantastic acts in store which we’ll announce next year, and can’t wait to see you all again in July.”

T in the Park takes place in Balado, near Kinross from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July 2014.

A limited number of T in the Park 2014 tickets will be available at 2013 prices at 9am on Friday 22nd November.
