Even if you're not the biggest fan of Disney films, you'll know that The Lion King is one of the biggest and most beloved films of all time. And you'll also no doubt be aware of the fact that a live action remake is being released this year.

Despite the skepticism of some fans, who felt that Disney couldn't improve on the perfection on the first film and should let Lion King be the one film that doesn't get the live action treatment, the subsequent trailers and cast announcements have made even the most die-hard fans of the original prick up their ears in anticipation.

Swipe through to see which films you can look forward to in 2019...

In December last year, Disney released the first real trailer for the film, where we got the see the moment Rafiki raises baby Simba up to the hoards of animals who have turned out for the ceremony, in a moment that harkened back to the original.

And during the 91st Academy Awards last night, viewers were treated to a reworking of the original trailer - a one-minute version which showed the highlights of the first and also had a voice saying, "It is time."

Whilst many are convinced that it is the voice of James Earl Jones' Mufasa speaking the words, serious Lion King fans will remember Rafiki saying that phrase in the 1994 animated film, when he realises that Simba is in fact alive, and not dead as previously reported by his evil Uncle Scar.

Although many fans loved seeing the trailer, others were left questioning whether we would get to hear any new voices before the film is released on 19th July 2019 - in particular, Donald Glover's Simba and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's Nala.

Looks like we'll just have to wait till July at this rate!
