"You got this" 💪
Last updated 11th Jan 2023
Kate Winslet might be a Hollywood superstar, but that doesn't stop the Avatar: The Way of The Water star being supportive to a young journalist who was nervous about doing her first interview.
The actor, who shot to fame after appearing in Titanic back in 1997 alongside Leonardo di Caprio, paused an interview with the young girl to give her some supportive words telling her: "You got this".
The video of the pep talk was re-shared by Clyde 1 reporter Olivia Marks, who wrote: 'Kate Winslet reassuring this young girl that her interview will be amazing is the most precious thing I’ve ever seen'.
She went on to explain in another tweet: 'Junkets can be really nerve wracking. Words of encouragement and kindness like this can go such a long way'.
In the video shared by Olivia, Kate can be seen asking the young journalist: "This is your first time doing it? OK, well, guess what? When we do this interview, it’s going to be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we’ve decided that it is going to be."
She goes on to say: "So, we’ve decided right now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview. And you can ask me anything that you want and you don’t have to be scared, everything is going to be amazing."
With the young girl agreeing, Kate added: "You got this. OK, let’s do it!"
Since posting the video on Monday 9th January, the tweet has gone viral with more than six million views and nearly 10k retweets and 55k likes.
Hundreds of people also commented on the video saying how supportive Kate was. One user wrote: 'In another life, Kate Winslet would be the most amazing teacher 🥰', with another saying: 'This makes me love her lots. What a kind and aware person.'
A third fan wrote: 'I couldn’t love her more!'.
Kate stars as Ronal in Avatar: The Way Of Water, which made a massive $1 billion at the box office in just two weeks after its release. The film was also nominated for two Golden Globes, for Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director (James Cameron), but sadly missed out on both to Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans.
